The Cat Who Won Dog Mans Heart

We always had a dog in my family, ever since I was four or five. My father had a peculiar hobby: a pigeon house and around 150 to 200 pigeons. His love for pigeons was so big that he hated everything that could be against his little eagles. That’s where his ways crossed with many stray cats. They were killing his birds trying to feed themselves or their families, and he hated them with passion for it. I reckon that was why we always had a dog instead of a cat. My mother is a notorious animal lover and loves all animals, including cats, often the main reason for family disputes.
Throughout my childhood, we had few dogs, except my first little crossbreed; we had big, pedigree specimens like German Shepherd or Rottweiler. Having that sort of beast made me a dog man throughout. Fast forward to two years ago, and as a grown man, father of three, we had a ZOO in the house. Dog called Ruby, Pascal the tortoise, green budgie named Joey and Brownie, Leah’s hamster. Reluctantly, I wouldn’t include my wife — Scottish Highland Cow due to understandable fear.

When my little man was growing up, a wee cat was wandering about, swiftly called Whiskers by my brilliant son…
