#fck20mph

In recent years, cities across the globe have been implementing 20mph speed limits in an effort to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. However, a recent survey conducted in our community sheds light on the public's perception of this seemingly well-intentioned initiative. The results are staggering, indicating a widespread dissatisfaction and a general consensus that the 20mph limit has had a detrimental impact on people's lives.

Negative Impact on Daily Lives

According to the survey, a significant 83% of respondents claimed that the default 20mph limit has negatively affected their lives. The majority (59%) admitted to driving slower due to the new limit, leading to frustration and, in some cases, tardiness for important appointments. A whopping 64% reported being late for appointments because of the reduced speed limit, highlighting the inconvenience caused by the initiative.

Lack of Pedestrian Safety Improvement

One of the primary reasons for implementing a lower speed limit is to enhance pedestrian safety. However, only 12% of respondents felt that the streets had become safer for pedestrians since the 20mph limit was introduced. This stark contrast between the intended goal and public perception raises concerns about the effectiveness of the initiative in achieving its primary objective.

Overwhelming
